All non-porous inks will tend to become caked and gummy. Periodically, by applying the applicable re-conditioner to the pad in the same manner as the ink, this condition is reduced to a minimum. When applying the re-conditioner to the pad, it should be worked in the pad for complete absorption. This can easily be done by using any flat-bladed instrument (spatula, ice cream stick). As a general rule, after three of four ink applications, the re-conditioner can be applied once. This procedure will extend your ink supply and reduce consumption of stamp pads, thereby cutting costs.
